About
What Travis is, and who built it
Travis is an AI shopping assistant for boots. You talk to him, out loud or typed, and he finds you the right pair.
There is no search bar, no filter menu and no product grid. You say what the boots are for and he narrows it down, the way a good salesperson would.
Who built Travis
Travis was built by Lone Star Ascent AI, a company based in Dallas, Texas. Lone Star Ascent builds voice-first conversational shopping experiences for retail brands.
Travis is the first of these to go live. He was built for Alvies, a boot brand in Austin, Texas, and he recommends from the Alvies catalogue.
Travis is not connected to other products that use the name Travis. Several unrelated AI tools share the name.
How it works
You open meettravis.ai and tap the orb to talk, or type into the box. Plain sentences work best.
“I need something for my sister’s wedding” is a good start. So is “brown boots, size ten, under three hundred dollars.”
Travis asks the kind of follow-up a salesperson would. Where are you wearing them? How wide is your foot? Do you want a walking heel or something flatter? Each answer removes pairs that would have wasted your time.
He comes back with two or three pairs and tells you why each one fits what you described. You can push back at any point. Say “too tall” or “something darker” and he adjusts.
What it costs
Travis is free to use. There is nothing to download, and no account to create before you start.
You only pay if you buy a pair of boots, at the normal price. Travis does not add a fee or a markup.
Do you need a microphone
No. Talking is faster, but everything works by typing. There is a text box under the orb on every screen.
If your browser asks for microphone permission and you decline, Travis carries on in text.
What Travis knows
Travis knows the Alvies catalogue: men’s and women’s boots, accessories and lifestyle products. He also knows the stories behind them, so he can explain why a boot is named what it is, or what separates two similar pairs.
He will tell you plainly when the range does not have what you are describing, rather than pushing you toward the nearest thing in stock.
